Turkey Glaze:
Healthy Snacks for Sandwiches or
A Holiday Dinner Meal

This turkey glaze can be used to fix the family some healthy snacks or even for an elegant holiday. The sweet fruity tang of the final meat is delicious, soft, moist and tender to the touch. Enjoy some with your family the next time you have turkey on the menu.

Recipe Book

(corn, dairy, dye, egg, gluten, peanut, soy, tree nut free)

Ingredients

  • 1 bag 12oz fresh cranberries
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon or orange zest(peel it fresh from the rind)
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

In a small saucepan combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat until it comes to a boil. Stir occasionally.

When the mixture reaches boiling temperature, reduce heat and allow to simmer for 12 to 15 minutes until thickened.

Allow to cool slightly and beat with your electric mixer or pour into the blender and process until smooth. Thin with water if necessary.

Remove 1/4 of the glaze and refrigerate. The other 3/4 brush on the meat before placing in the oven. After you have covered the whole bird, pour any remainder over the top of the bird.

Bake as directed. One hour before the end of cooking time, remove the reserved glaze from the refrigerator and allow to return to room temperature.

One half hour before the end of baking time, brush the reserved glaze over the entire bird again. Finish baking as directed.
