Baby Milk Allergy:
Eliminating Dairy From His
Healthy Snacks

A true baby milk allergy is not very common. Typically, when eating some healthy snacks from milk, we equate the sensitivity of an intolerance to the terminology of a milk allergy. The two conditions are not the same.

Now that I've said that, so as not to confuse you, there is four primary reasons a baby will show the symptoms of a milk allergy. These include:

All mammals are programmed at birth through genes to exist solely on mother's milk. A mother's milk is the most concentrated form of lactose there is. Therefore, full term babies are born with the capabilities of digesting this concentrated milk by having sufficient amounts of lactase already in their system. This is to aid them in the digestive process.

Occasionally, premature babies are born so early they have not developed enough lactase to help digest the lactose, or the milk sugar. It has been observed though, after the first few feedings, the newborn will eventually develop a sufficient supply of lactase. This then enables them to digest the lactose which is present in their mother's milk.

If you suspect an allergy because of frequent dairy allergy symptoms in babies which you just can not account for, keep a log of the unusual symptoms or your concerns and make an immediate appointment with your baby's doctor. Any time your baby is showing the signs and symptoms of a baby milk allergy, immediate attention must be taken to verify if you are dealing with infant milk allergies.
